Three draws in Havana

Local favourite Leinier Dominguez Perez was only able to draw with leader Vassily Ivanchuk. He is still however in equal second as nobody else was able to win either in the third round of the Capablanca Memorial.

Ivanchuk made an enterprising exchange positional sacrifice on c3 and obtained sufficient compensation, but no more than enough to hold the balance.

The other two games came from the Spanish, noting in particular Alekseev-Bruzon that yet again demonstrates that the fashionable 'Berlin-wall' defence is rock-solid!

Ivanchuk retains his full point lead as three draws maintains the status quo.
