Shirov hits back

The unpredictable, but always entertaining, Alexei Shirov, scored his first victory in the third round of the Biel International. He now leapfrogs Fabiano Caruana into third place behind Magnus Carlsen and Alexander Morozevich who drew their encounter.

In the other game, Yannick Pelletier held Frenchman Maxime Vachier-Lagrave to a draw in the shortest game of the round.
